Quote

Here's a great line from William Goldman's The Princess Bride:
"... life isn't fair. It's just fairer than death, that's all."

By the way, this book is awesome and everyone should read it no matter how many times they have seen the movie... which is also awesome.

For Craigy T

I wrote a song for Craig Thomason, a great musician and great friend. It made me feel better, and I hope it helps other people feel better. I recorded it with Tammy Yurich on back-up vocals and Greg Travis on percussion. Below are the lyrics and a link to a recording:

"Light Beyond the Blue"

I never thought there was a heaven.
I never thought all that was true.
And when I looked up to the sky,
It was all black behind the blue.

Just a story for the children,
To help them keep in line at school.
I never thought there was a heaven,
Until all this happened to you.

I can't wrap my mind around it.
It all happened way too soon.
We'll never know you as an old man.
31 was all we knew.

But you must be out there somewhere,
Cause I still hear you singing tunes.
You shined way too bright in this show,
And there's a bigger stage for you.

I know now that I was wrong before,
And there's a place I never knew,
Cause you're too great for this to be the ending,
So heaven must be true.
And I hope I'll see you someday.
Lord I hope I get there too.
And we will play again in heaven.
For there is light beyond the blue.
Yes, there is light beyond the blue.
There is light.
